Pendorff pedestrian killed on I-59
   A Pendorff Community man was killed while walking along Interstate 59 just before midnight on Saturday, police officials in Laurel report.
   Otis L. Massey, 49, was struck by a Jeep Cherokee that veered off the interstate right at the Exit 93, in front of Sanderson Farms, said Detective Earl Reed of the Laurel Police Department. Massey had been walking on the shoulder of the roadway when he was struck at about 11:45 p.m., Reed said.
   The driver of the SUV was identified only as a 46-year-old Laurel woman.
   “She said she fell asleep and hit something, then she stopped and went back and found the man,” Reed said.
   The woman was taken to South Central Regional Medical Center and blood was drawn to be tested and find out if she was impaired, Reed said, adding that the results should be back in “a couple of weeks.” Criminal charges are pending until the results are in.
    “She did stop and call 911 and try to render aid,” Reed said.
   Investigator Kim Stewart is in charge of the case. Also working the accident were the Laurel Fire Department, Wayne Black of the District Attorney’s Office and Lance Chancellor of the Emergency Management Agency.

The laundromat is a lot better now it's clean and the machines work and it is cheaper to wash there now!!!!

Great to hear Mr. Bazor is finally trying to do something about that place. It's disgustingly filthy at all times and people have resorted to writing on dryers to tell others which ones work. That place is a money pit where the poor are robbed by machines that may or may not even work. I've stopped going there, but many have no choice.

If possible, check out the Valentine's edition of the Leader Call(paper copy). The date says, "Thursday February 14, 2012" instead of "Tuesday"! Priceless!!
