LJC Dixie Majors win state title
The members of the Laurel-Jones County Dixie Majors all-stars will get to add a trip to South Carolina to their lists of "What I Did this Summer," as they knocked off the Pine Belt all-stars on Tuesday to claim the Dixie Majors state championship.
LJC will travel to North Charleston, S.C., to compete in the DIxie Majors 2013 World Series July 27-31. The LJC team will compete with 10 state champions from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia plus the hosts from North Charleston.
While the LJC Majors claimed the state title, the LJC Pre-Majors were not as fortunate. They were knocked off by the Pine Belt all-stars, 5-2, in the championship game on Tuesday.
